Introduction

Health, Safety and wellbeing are our top priorities

Our operations and activities are managed so as to eliminate, or reduce to a minimum, risks to the health, safety and wellbeing of our employees, visitors, contractors and anyone else involved in our work.

Our aim is a working life without accidents. Everyone is expected to act responsibly, to take all reasonably practicable steps to prevent injury to themselves and others, and to contribute to better health, safety and wellbeing at BRE. Failure to comply with BRE’s health, safety and wellbeing rules could result in serious harm to you or the people that you work with whether on or off-site.

Our success in maintaining health, safety and wellbeing is based on four principles:

  • Health, safety and wellbeing is everyone’s responsibility
  • Health, safety and wellbeing is integral to everything we do
  • Health, safety and wellbeing is essential to the success of our business
  • Nothing is worth risking our own or others’ health, safety and wellbeing

OUR HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELLBEING POLICY IS TO:

  • Make health, safety and wellbeing an integral part of our business success
  • Continually improve our wellbeing performance
  • Comply with all relevant legislation

THIS WILL BE ACHIEVED BY:

  • Working to a system aligned with recognised management system standards
  • Setting goals and action plans to continually improve our wellbeing performance
  • Training our employees to achieve and maintain high standards of health, safety and wellbeing
  • Encouraging the use of new technologies and processes to facilitate achieving our health, safety and wellbeing policy
  • Communicating openly with employees, customers, suppliers and contractors on health, safety and wellbeing issues
